Important Notice
These terms exist to protect both you as a patient and your practitioner. They reflect the professional, regulated nature of this practice and ensure that care is delivered safely, ethically, and in compliance with CQC standards and NMC professional guidelines.
About This Practice
Orla Coull Medical Aesthetics is an independent aesthetic nursing practice operated by Orla Coull, a Registered General Nurse (RGN) and Independent Nurse Prescriber (INP) registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
This practice operates under a medical model of care. All consultations constitute a formal clinical encounter. You are a patient, not a client, and all care is delivered within a regulated healthcare framework in accordance with NMC professional standards.
Treatments involving prescription-only medicines — including botulinum toxin type A — are prescribed and administered by a qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber. A clinical assessment and diagnosis are required before any prescription is issued.
Consultations
An initial consultation is required before any treatment is carried out. This is a formal clinical appointment during which your medical history will be taken, an examination performed, a diagnosis reached, and treatment options discussed.
- 1. Initial consultations are offered free of charge as a clinical service.
- 2. A consultation does not obligate you to proceed with any treatment.
- 3. You will be given the opportunity to ask questions and consider your options before making any decision.
- 4. A cooling-off period will be offered where clinically appropriate, in line with NMC and GMC good practice guidance.
- 5. Consultations are conducted in person at the practice address. Remote consultations may be offered for follow-up purposes only.
Prescription Treatments
Where treatment involves a prescription-only medicine (such as botulinum toxin type A), a clinical assessment and formal diagnosis must be completed before any prescription is issued. Prescriptions cannot be provided without a face-to-face consultation. This is a legal and professional requirement.
Booking Fees & Deposits
To secure your appointment and protect your practitioner's time, the following booking and deposit policy applies. All fees are deducted from the total cost of your treatment on the day.
| Situation | Fee / Deposit | Policy |
|---|---|---|
| Initial consultation | No charge | Free of charge. No deposit required. |
| Botulinum toxin treatment | £50 deposit | Required at time of booking. Deducted from treatment cost. |
| Dermal filler treatment | £50 deposit | Required at time of booking. Deducted from treatment cost. |
| Profhilo / skin booster | £50 deposit | Required at time of booking. Deducted from treatment cost. |
| Combined / multi-area booking | £50 deposit | Single deposit covers all treatments in one appointment. |
| Follow-up review appointment | No charge | Complimentary two-week review included with all treatments. |
Why a Deposit is Required for Injectable Treatments
Prescription-only medicines such as botulinum toxin must be purchased in advance of your appointment. Once a prescription has been issued and the product ordered, your practitioner is financially committed. The £50 deposit covers this cost in the event of a late cancellation or no-show and is non-refundable in those circumstances.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel your appointment, please notify us as early as possible using the contact details provided at the time of booking.
| Notice Given | Deposit | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| More than 48 hours | Fully refunded or transferred | Appointment rescheduled at no cost |
| Less than 48 hours | Non-refundable | May be rescheduled once at discretion of practitioner |
| No-show | Non-refundable | Full treatment fee may be charged if product ordered |
We reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee equivalent to the cost of any prescription product ordered on your behalf where less than 72 hours' notice is given. You will be informed if this applies at the time of cancellation.
Rescheduling
We understand that life is unpredictable. We will always try to accommodate rescheduling requests where possible.
- 6. Appointments may be rescheduled free of charge with more than 48 hours' notice. Your deposit will be transferred to the new appointment.
- 7. Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the appointment are at the practitioner's discretion. The deposit may be retained.
- 8. A maximum of two rescheduling requests per booking will be accommodated. After this, the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit will be required.
- 9. Rescheduled appointments are subject to availability.
Payment Terms
The following payment terms apply to all appointments at Orla Coull Medical Aesthetics:

- 11. The remaining balance is due on the day of treatment, prior to or immediately following the procedure.
- 12. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or card payment. Cash is not accepted.

Clinical Suitability & Right to Decline Treatment
This practice operates under a medical model. Your practitioner has a professional and ethical duty to act in your best clinical interest at all times.
- 16. Your practitioner reserves the right to decline treatment if, following clinical assessment, you are deemed unsuitable for the proposed procedure. This decision is made in your best interests and is non-negotiable.
- 17. Treatment will not be carried out without a completed medical history, clinical examination, and formal diagnosis.
- 18. Botulinum toxin and dermal filler treatments will not be performed on patients who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain medical conditions that contraindicate treatment.
- 19. If you fail to disclose relevant medical information and this results in harm, the practitioner accepts no liability for that outcome.
- 20. You must inform your practitioner of any changes to your medical history, medications, or health status at every appointment.
Informed Consent
Your consent is required before any treatment can proceed. Consent in this practice is:
- 21. Informed — you will be given full information about the proposed treatment, including risks, benefits, alternatives, and expected outcomes.
- 22. Voluntary — you are under no obligation to proceed and may withdraw consent at any time before treatment commences.
- 23. Written — a formal consent form will be provided and must be signed prior to treatment.
- 24. Specific — consent is obtained for each treatment area and product on each occasion. Previous consent does not carry forward.
You have the right to change your mind and decline treatment at any point before it begins. If treatment has already commenced, your practitioner will use clinical judgement to manage the situation safely.
Results, Expectations & Aftercare
Aesthetic treatments produce individual results. No guarantee of a specific outcome can be made.
- 25. Results vary depending on individual anatomy, skin condition, lifestyle, and response to treatment.
- 26. Full results from botulinum toxin treatments are typically visible within 7–14 days. A two-week follow-up review is included with all treatments.
- 27. Dermal filler results are immediate but may be subject to swelling and bruising in the initial period. Final results are assessed at two weeks.
- 28. Aftercare instructions will be provided verbally and in writing at the time of treatment. It is your responsibility to follow these instructions. Failure to do so may affect your results and may affect any complaint or refund request.
- 29. Treatment top-ups, adjustments, or additional product required beyond what was planned will be charged separately.

Your safety and satisfaction are important to us. If you have any concerns about your treatment or experience, please raise them as soon as possible.
- 30. In the first instance, please contact your practitioner directly using the contact details provided at your appointment.
- 31. All complaints will be acknowledged within 5 working days and responded to in full within 28 days.

Data Protection & Privacy
Your personal and medical data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- 34. Clinical records are stored securely within your practitioner's patient management software and retained for a minimum of 8 years in accordance with NMC record keeping standards.
